The GD Magnetic Grading Drum ensures the removal of all micro ferrous material in molding sand, which easily escape the action of "overbelt" magnetic seperators.

Suitable for heavy duty intensive continuous service and equipped with a high attraction magnet installed on a robust supporting structure made from non magnetic stainless steel plating.

The grading drum is made from a non magnetic stainless steel tube assembled on a shaft rotating on grey iron pillow block bearings assembled on supports equipped with efficient dust proof sealing covers. Inside the revolving drum is installed a high flux, ferrite permanent magnet.

A reducing spur motor gear unit is directly installed on the grading drum drive shafter, complete with external air cooling system.

These small ferrous pieces and spheres are harmful to patterns, particularly in vertical molding machines. They also produce a variety of casting defects resulting in additional fettling or even scrap. The GD unit is a "must" in any foundry molding plant where suprior casting quality is of utmost importance.

The supporting frame is constructed from heavy, completely welded stainless steel fabrication.

A two way forked chute is provided to direct the separated ferrous scrap into a receiving container, whilst the cleansed sand continues to the next processing stage.
